Job description:
Key Responsibilities:Pattern Development & Grading
- Develop accurate patterns for men's apparel (e.g., shirts, trousers, jackets, suits, t-shirts, jeans).
- Modify patterns based on design sketches, technical specifications, and customer requirements.
- Grade patterns into different sizes while maintaining fit consistency.
- Ensure patterns align with design intent and production feasibility.
- Conduct sample fittings and make necessary adjustments for perfect fit and comfort.
- Work closely with designers and production teams to refine patterns.
- Prepare and maintain detailed technical files with pattern specifications.
- Ensure patterns are production-friendly and optimize fabric utilization.
- Collaborate with cutting, sewing, and quality teams to resolve technical issues.
- Understand various fabrics and trims and their impact on fit and construction.
- Recommend necessary alterations based on fabric properties (stretch, shrinkage, drape).
- Create patterns using manual methods and CAD software (Optitex, Gerber, Lectra, or any relevant software).
- Digitize and modify existing patterns to enhance efficiency.
- Ensure patterns meet quality standards and production tolerances.
- Maintain accurate records of pattern versions and modifications.
- Follow industry standards and compliance requirements.
- Education: Diploma/Degree in Fashion Design, Pattern Making, or Textile Technology.
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years in pattern making for men’s apparel.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in manual and digital pattern making.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, draping, and grading.
- Knowledge of men's wear fitting and sizing standards.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical pattern issues.
- Experience with CAD software like Gerber, Lectra, or Optitex (preferred).
